Oh! Creative featured! “Best Videos of 2023”

We’ re proud to be featured as one of the best videos of 2023 with Design Rush. Please check out this article that features our work on Resonance Ensemble’s An African American Requiem, by American composer Damien Geter.

This video series was produced as a part of a larger multi-dimensional educational curriculum package that includes curricular integration, in-school presentations, workshops, a live performance, and post-show interactive engagement. The curriculum provided Portland Public School's student access to the world premiere of celebrated composer Damien Geter’s “An African American Requiem”, an important new work for choir and orchestra commissioned by Resonance Ensemble which premiered in Portland, OR in May of 2022. Plans are in the works to develop this project so that public school students across the country are able to experience it.

The piece, which takes inspiration from traditional Latin requiem texts, has been in the works for the last several years and is a bold and thought-provoking musical response to racial violence against Black Americans in the United States.
